Spaceport powertug

Description

Using my scale modelling projects and incorporated them into photostories completely unrelated to the original subjects is another passion of mine. Still learning the art every day. It was loosely influenced by 70s scifi artbooks where different artworks were linked together with seemingly coherent plot.

This one was a spontaneous what-if project, no prior planning whatsoever. What should I do with two sets of HGUC 1/144 RB-79 Ball and one Monogram Seaquest DSV cargo sub? Of course combining them together. :D (Big Grin) Not content to build the RB-79 straight into combat units, instead I turned them into civilian engineering units. Units that serve in spaceports and colonies as zero-G engineering support team. The power tug would serve as mothership to the four worker units, complete with pressurized crew cabin. I extended the length of the cargo sub with styrene and junk parts from Armoured Core kits. Still have more rooms for improvement. Maybe I'll do an update or build another one when my skill sharpens a bit.

Cennar Aerodynamics SVT-12 Caterpillar power tug, nicknamed "Chesapeake Curry Fishball" for it's tan colour Worker Balls and the skipper's hometown on Earth. Stationed on Side 6 colony clusters, this power tug along with nearly a thousand of its sister ships are the workhorse of every spaceport facilities. Now in it's sixth major model change, the "Cat" not only has improved engines and sophisticated avionics, but it can now carry a total of four RB-79W Worker Ball on its docking stations for additional zero-G SAR & repair capability. Large ports sometimes have at least a dozen of vessels on duty at any time. Large galactic cruise ships & logistic vessels always require the assistance of tugs to perform tight maneuver into docking ports. Sometimes even high performance military vessel such as Borodino class fast battleships which have hundreds of micro thrusters on their hulls would sometimes call for the tugs to perform even more minute precision docking procedures for the sake of port security measures.
